Walking into Santiago was fulfilling but disappointing. Like life the journey was become remembered, not the anticlimactic finish. Santiago's narrow streets teemed with tourists, too many people for pilgrims who had become accustomed to the quiet countryside and great hospitality of small Spanish towns.

The grounds contain a good lawn using a huge pool, lounge chairs, and landscaping. Sloping away from the pool area is a grove of olive shrubs. The knarled tree trunks are so interesting to examine. A tree lined lane borders leading lawn as it curves meet up with the bottom of the grove. The lawn, trees, and shrubs are constantly being cut and trimed, which reinforces the feeling that the relationship is done for your enjoyment on the guests. Valley views be present almost everywhere, even the window cut into the hedge.
